LORRAINE BREGER DESIGNS
Artist - Designer - Creator.
BIOGRAPHY
Lorraine graduated from The Scottish College of Textiles, Heriot Watt in 2000, with a First Class Honours degree in Textile Design, specialising in woven textiles.
From there, she returned home to Northern Ireland where she worked for three years in a small, bespoke, vertical weaving mill, analysing woven antique documents and recreating them for luxury Editors such as Rogers and Goffigan, Holly Hunt and Nancy Corzine. This work consolidated her respect for historical textiles and her understanding of fabric construction.
In 2003, Lorraine secured a 12 month placement in the prestigious Italian design studio, Luna Home. Here she trained exclusively in printed design and was able to hone her painting skills and develop her distinctive hand writing, realising concepts for clients such as Pierre Frey. This experience was the foundation of her passion and understanding of colour and its transformative power on an interior space
In 2004, following her training in Italy, Lorraine was approached by Zoffany to work as a designer. For 14 years she was an integral part of the brand and its identity, responsible for many of its iconic designs across both wallpaper
and printed, woven and embroidered fabrics.
In 2019 Lorraine set up her own freelance design business, Lorraine Breger Designs and now uses her vast experience to create beautiful designs for discerning clients.
